Winter’s ending and BBQ season is here!

There’s something wonderful about the first BBQ of the warmer months. As winter fades, the days stretch a little longer, the sun starts to warm the garden and suddenly dinner tastes better cooked outdoors. Tassie spring can be a bit unpredictable but you can still look forward to some good days for firing up the BBQ.

We always look forward to getting back into outdoor cooking and it’s fair to say the right condiment can take a simple steak, lamb chop, sausage or chicken fillet to another level.

For a bold start, try our Hot Whisky Mustard. Made with whole mustard seeds steeped in Tasmanian single malt whisky, it brings a rich heat that is made for steak, roast meats and anything coming straight off the BBQ.

For the classic BBQ experience, you can’t go past our Tomato Relish. Rich, naturally flavoured and given a subtle spicy lift, it’s a perfect match for most meats – it’s favourite when served generously alongside sausages or added to a burger.

Want to add a distinctly Tasmanian twist? Pepperberry Mustard combines seeded mustard with the spicy character of Tasmanian pepperberry. Its unique flavour works beautifully with quality meats and game, making it an ideal partner for lamb or venison.

For something sweeter with a gentle kick, Strawberry Chilli Sauce brings subtle Tasmanian strawberry flavour and mild chilli heat. It’s especially good with chicken, either as a dipping sauce or brushed on as a marinade. If you’re cooking seafood on the BBQ, this is a great option.

And for those who like some sweetness and spice, our Chilli Jam is a fantastic choice. Made with fresh chillies, it works with almost all meats and is particularly delicious brushed over chicken as it cooks, creating a sweet and spicy glaze.

So, as Tasmania warms up through spring, dust off the BBQ, invite some friends over and stock the fridge with a few jars of Tassie’s finest. These favourites plus a number of others from our range will help you turn the start of BBQ season into something special.
