Winter In Tasmania

13/07/2015

The Tasmanian winter is beautiful.  Cool air, crisp mornings, blue skies and the last of the leaves are falling from the trees.  Sure, the temperatures may be a little… invigorating but if you’re feeling the cold, simply put another layer on!

At the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company, we love this time of the year for not only the sights and sounds around our property but the interest we receive in winter ‘comfort food’ recipes that use our products.  You’ll find plenty of recipes on our website for tasty winter treats but we thought we would share some images from around the garden in winter 2015.

Looking over the South Esk River and its valley, towards the village of Evandale is spectacular on a frosty morning.  We see regular frosts in winter and have seen the mercury drop as low as -7 recently.  The saving grace is that you know you’re in for a beautiful sunny day when the morning is so chilly!

The garden is still impressive in its own way in winter – perhaps a little sleepy and not quite as proud as it will be in another 3 months but still a sight to see.  We look forward to hosting you for a winter visit and a tasting soon.
